Stockpile Party Fever

We came across an inspirational Stockpile customer named DJ on social media. DJ is a teacher at a leadership academy in Atlanta, filmmaker, artist, photographer and host of popular financial podcast “Reclaiming My Dime.” We learned that he wanted to spend his 40th birthday a little differently.  Here is what DJ said:

Instead of everyone worrying about outfits, gas, parking, door fees, VIP list, etc… Buy me a share of something, or a fractional share of something. I want to change how we celebrate life. I want us to invest in each other’s lives for our birthdays, not waste our money on turning up so much that we need photos to remember how the night went. With a Stockpile Party, I will be able to analyze and remember the details of my birthday forever.

Instead of traditional presents, DJ wanted to have a Stockpile Party. This meant his friends and family would buy him fractional shares of stock that were on his “Wish List” instead of traditional gifts. We thought, BRILLANT!

We wanted to do him one better, and decided to throw him a real 40th birthday bash in his home city of Atlanta. We invited close family and friends, gave gift cards of stock instead of party favors, and connected on enhancing financial literacy in the creative community. The more we got to know DJ and the way he and his crew are trying to positively impact the financial mindsets in Atlanta, the more we wanted to make his 40th birthday special.

His message – inclusive investing for all – really aligned with our core values here at Stockpile. Please check out the video of our Stockpile Party below, and let us know if you are interested in throwing your own Stockpile Party!
